After 30 years in regeneration and development, I became a professional photographer, working primarily for commercial clients in the UK and Europe, until retiring and joyously tumbling back into painting.
More interested in expression than representation, painting for me is a mindful and meditative experience. In a world of distractions and white noise I’m able to focus on the present moment.
I relish the process, enjoying the physicality and tactility of hands-on connection with tools and materials, adding and subtracting media to manipulate and experiment with art elements and principles.
I enjoyed a decade as a Trustee of Liverpool Biennial, the UK’s largest festival of contemporary visual art, and remain a judge and mentor with the Guild of Photographers.
I use Instagram to collect together links to awesome artists in one place - a bottomless well of inspiration.
